The Story of Byrnes
Byrnes Traditional Fish & Chips was established in 1932 by our Great Grandfather, Patrick Joseph Byrnes. Our first shop was opened on Stuart Road in the heart of Liverpool.
Our shop survived through devastating bombings across the North of Liverpool during the second World War and was busy serving our loyal customers our famous fish and chips which was at the time wrapped in newspapers.
We pride ourselves on the freshness of our produce. All of our fish is delivered fresh regularly to our shops and we only use local ingredients wherever possible. We feel that the freshness of our ingredients contributes to our famous great taste.
With a 5 star food hygiene rating across both of our locations, our team take great care when it comes to hygiene and the safe preparation of your food. With a fantastic local reputation, there are often large queues outside our shops reflecting the quality of our food and customer satisfaction.
Our heritage and family ownership means a lot to us. Many of our customers have been visiting us for decades and their custom has been passed on through generations just as Byrnes has too.
Nowadays the shop is ran by great grandchildren Francis and Mark who have continued their family’s tradition, recipes and have inherited their passion and knowledge for quality traditional fish and chips.
Byrnes have a regularly updated menu, delicious specials and a traditional family recipe of fish and chips which is loved by thousands across the city. We are proud of our heritage and relationship with our loyal customers and hope you can visit us soon.
